Position Overview

Charter Keck Cramer is seeking a Full Time Senior Financial Accountant to join its Finance team, based in Melbourne. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will support the delivery of timely and accurate financial and management accounting responsibilities nationally. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the integrity of the general ledger and reported information 
  • Lead month end close activities and reporting
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries for payments, leave, salaries and bonuses 
  • Prepare year end financial statements and associated reconciliations 
  • Compile key business metrics, company and individual performance reporting
  • Liaise with external accountants to ensure timely closure of financial year end
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Articulate and interpret relevant accounting standards and maintain policies 
  • Prepare and lodge BAS reconciliations 
  • Ensure Company tax lodgment is timely and maintain accurate records
  • Ad-hoc analysis and management reporting

Position Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business Administration 
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant 
  • 7+ years’ experience in full cycle financial accounting, preferably within professional services 
  • Experience in payroll tax calculations and submissions
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of accounting standards
  • Experience using an ERP (Netsuite, Microsoft D365, Microsoft AX , TechOne)
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities
  • Articulate written and verbal communication
  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills 
  • Willingness to contribute including flexibility
  • Attention to detail and concern for quality and standards
  • Proven ability to work independently
