Position Overview

Charter has an opportunity for a full time Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its Quantity Surveying team in Melbourne. Reporting to the National Executive Director, this position will assist and support the Quantity Surveying team in the preparation and delivery of client projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing measurements for cost estimates and bills of quantities
  • Accompany Quantity Surveyor to site visits and client meetings
  • Assist with preparation of financier initial and progress reports
  • Assist in the assessment of builder’s progress claims
  • Liaise with subcontractors/suppliers to obtain pricing of materials
  • Assist in undertaking variation assessments
  • Provide administrative assistance to Quantity Surveyors

Position Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Construction Management
  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience, preferably in a consulting environment, would be beneficial
  • Current Victorian Drivers License
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Disciplined and organised with a strong work ethic
  • Desire to learn and develop skills and knowledge
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing requirements
