Hall & Wilcox Office Refurbishment, Queen & Collins

Hall & Wilcox, a leading Australian law firm serving corporate, public sector and private clients both locally and internationally, recently completed a comprehensive office fit-out across four levels of the prestigious Queen & Collins building in Melbourne's CBD. The project included the construction of intertenancy connecting stairs, creating a cohesive workplace that spans multiple floors.

Situated in a precinct rich with local culture and embodying a vibrant working neighbourhood, the new Hall & Wilcox office has been designed and delivered to the highest sustainability and wellness standards, targeting a 6 Star Green rating and WELL Platinum certification.

The office refurbishment reflects Hall & Wilcox's commitment to creating an exceptional workplace environment that prioritises both environmental performance and occupant wellbeing. The 6 Star Green rating demonstrates outstanding environmental design and operational efficiency, while the WELL Platinum standard – the highest level of WELL certification – recognises the project's comprehensive approach to supporting the health, comfort and productivity of its occupants.

The intertenancy connecting stairs enhance connectivity and collaboration across the firm's four-level footprint, fostering interaction and movement throughout the workplace.

Charter Keck Cramer provided comprehensive Quantity Surveying services throughout the project, including:

Pre-construction Services: Development of pre-tender estimates and assistance with the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) process to support procurement and project planning

Construction Services: Assessment of progress claims and variations to ensure robust cost control and financial oversight throughout delivery

Asset Register Preparation: Prepared register of fit-out assets for tax depreciation purposes

The project was successfully completed in December 2024, enabling Hall & Wilcox to take possession of the space over the Christmas break and facilitate a seamless transition for staff returning in early 2025.

Charter Keck Cramer is pleased to have contributed our Quantity Surveying expertise to this flagship workplace project, supporting Hall & Wilcox in creating a space where their team can grow, learn and thrive in an environment that sets new benchmarks for sustainability and workplace wellness.
